It's Back. But Can the New Napster Survive?
In early 2002, the NPD Group conducted its MusicWatch
survey. In it, people were asked to name the online music
service they used. A small portion said Napster. That may
not seem very surprising, except for this: six months
earlier, the American government had shut down Napster Inc.
for promoting piracy.

Will MSBlast teach us a lesson?
Users didn't learn from Code Red, Nimda or Slammer, so why
should MSBlast make any difference? Experts say this is

Second Sight
The world of wireless internet access (Wi-Fi for short) is
definitely hotting up. Not only are more and more homes and
offices sprouting 802.11b 11Mbps (and now, in our office as
an example, 802.11g 54Mbps) wireless Ethernet connections,
they are in an increasing number of public locations.

Will Wi-Fi fly?
It was a striking combination of the old and the new. The
old: a huge hot air balloon, looming high above the Ashton
Court estate in Bristol last weekend. The new: the Intel
branding on the side of the balloon, and the wireless
internet-equipped laptops the passengers were toting.
