
APRICOT 2003 will be held in
Taipei
from Feb. 19 to 28
APRICOT
2003, the eighth APRICOT, will be held at Taipei International Convention
Center (TICC) co-hosted by
Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT) and Taiwan Network
Information Center (TWNIC) form February 24 to February
28, with 5 pre-conference workshops from February 19 to 23..
APRICOT,
the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies, was
first held in 1996, is an annual conference that facilitates knowledge sharing
among Internet builders in the Asia Pacific region, with peers and leaders from
the Internet community worldwide.
APRICOT
2003 will include five 5-day workshops, a 2-day tutorial programme and a 2-day
conference programme, each comprising a number of themed parallel tracks on such
topics as Infrastructure development, Internet applications, policy and legal
issues, etc. One of the major
conference track is provided by APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre,
the Regional Internet Address Registry for the Asia Pacific region), and serves as APNIC's Open Policy Meeting and Members Meeting. Also, in
2003, The Global IPv6 Summit in Asia Pacific will be held in conjunction with
APRICOT 2003 as another major tutorial and conference track for the first time.
In
addition to the workshop, tutorial and conference programmes, other activities
which will be held during the APRICOT 203 period
include:

Meetings of
regional interest-oriented associations such as
APIA (the
Asia Pacific Internet Association), APNG (the Asia Pacific Networking Group),
APTLD (the Asia Pacific Top-Level Domain organization), AP* Retreat; and APSIRC
(Asia Pacific Security Incidence Response Coordination
Conference).

Independent "Birds
of a Feather" sessions, which may be called by anyone to bring together
like-minded meeting participants around a particular special interest
topic;

Demo Lab (sponsor
area), providing product demonstration space, and allowing participants to meet
with suppliers of Internet technologies, to discuss technical requirements,
support issues etc.

Opening Reception,
Closing Social Event and scheduled breaks, providing opportunities for
networking among meeting participants.
