Dear APPLers,

Steven Clift has done a good job in assembling together about 400 people
online for a n intensive brainstorming on Online Democracy and all its
constituent issues in Asia.

Knowing how enthusiastic of an organiser Steven is, I would strongly
recommend you to join. Below's a sample post , forwarded to me that
alerted me to the group.

Well done to Balla Pillai's Sangkacil Malaysian list. Its provided a
wonderful channel over the years.
The following is not Asian but the training website Pacific Journalism
Online produced by journalism students a University of South Pacific (USP)
last year published daily coverage of the coup in Fiji. The articles are
at: http://www.usp.ac.fj/journ/docs/news/coup74.html
The website ran daily news coverage for the first 10 days of the crisis and
was then closed down on May 29 by USP authorities in response to threats.
But the students' reports continued being published, hosted by the
University of Technology, Sydney, journalism website at:
http://www.journalism.uts.edu.au/archive/coup.html.
