International jurisdiction, India & Florida

Hi all

An interesting few articles, the first one being probably the most
interesting.

Border Disputes Simmer (Business 2.0)
One lawyer representing the ecommerce industry at the Hague
Convention on Jurisdiction says it may be good if a treaty is not
reached.

It's a headache-inducing question. When a company in Silicon Valley
launches a Website, casting goods and services into cyberspace,
and--illustrating the beauty of the Internet--a potential customer
emerges in a tiny country in Asia, whose rules govern the
transaction? If a dispute arises between the buyer and seller, what
government will define each player's rights?

Despite all the ecommerce advances of the past two years, this basic
question of jurisdiction is as unresolved as ever. And until it is
resolved, U.S. ecommerce companies must navigate somewhat blindly in
international waters.

out. But sometimes she drives where no one can see her, heading for
the countryside so that "I can lift my niqaab and feel the air on my
face," she says in the Niqaabi Club chat room for fully veiled Muslim
women.
