Hi All,
Here's something from NIXI. Request you all to spread the word around. If you are interested or know someone who fits the bill..please respond.

National Internet Exchange of India ( www.nixi.org ) is being set up, as an
initiative of the ISP Association of India and the Deptt of Information
Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Govt. of India. NIXI's
initial
plan is to set up 4 Nodes, at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkatta. These
Internet Exchanges are being set up with the primary aim to connect ISP's
across India at common points, nearest to their repective locations, so as
to
enable them to exchange domestic internet traffic amongst themselves and to
ensure that this traffic is routed internally within India ( shortest route
method ) and avoid their transit through multiple international hops. NIXI is set to begin operations soon, starting with Delhi and is
immediately
looking for a Chief Operating Officer, for NIXI, which has been established
as an independent Section 25 company ( not for profit ), with Directors on
Board drawn from amongst ISP members, DiT,IIT, ISPAI and DoT. The company
aims to become a financially selfsustaining company within the first year
of
operations. The CEO should have basic Engineering background, with about 10 years
overall
industry/business experience, in the Communications / Internet sector.
Knowledge and experience of managing Internet/Internet related
infrastructure
with a sound commercial acumen and ability to deal with multiple service
providers and other agencies including government departments/agencies will
be an esential prerequisite. He/She will report to the Board and will be
incharge of day to day operations, leading to fulfilment of the Objectives
of
NIXI. Candidates with hands on experience with any IXP, around the world,
will be given highest preference for selection. The candidates would be
based
in Delhi/NOIDA to begin with, but should be willing to relocate as and when
required. Applicants may send their resume with complete details to Mr. Sharad Sanghi
