APNIC is pleased to announce the implementation of the new IPv6 policy
effective 1 July 2002. The new IPv6 policy was accepted by consensus at
APNIC's 13th Open Policy Meeting and is common to all Regional Internet
Registry communities - APNIC, ARIN, and the RIPE NCC. The new policy
replaces the provisional IPv6 policy launched in 1999.

The new IPv6 Address Allocation and Assignment Policy is available at:

    http://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/docs/ipv6-address-policy

APNIC is also developing a summary version of the IPv6 policy document
and will announce it to members for comment shortly.
